AskED® ePollbook Certified in Virginia

Richmond, VA— January 13, 2016 — The Virginia State Board of Elections announced that the Robis Elections AskED® ePollbook has been certified and approved for use in Virginia. Electronic poll books are used to check-in voters on Election Day and provide great advantages over paper poll books. Electronic Pollbook benefits include reducing check-in wait times plus the ability to implement same-day registration and vote-anywhere Vote Centers.

The State of Virginia implements a comprehensive testing and certification program for electronic poll books. Certification verifies that the AskED ePollbook satisfied the requirements of state law when operated as presented. Virginia jurisdictions are required to select only a Virginia-certified electronic pollbook for use in elections.

According to David Davoust, President of Robis Elections, Inc., “We are honored to have the opportunity to serve Virginia jurisdictions and their constituents. Robis Elections is pleased to have met Virginia’s high certification standards.”

Virginia jurisdictions can save both time and money when using electronic Pollbooks.

The AskED ePollbook is easy to use. The AskED ePollbook offers not only a modernized version of the traditional paper poll book but also adds a built-in patent-pending Election Decision Support™ system. This advanced system provides poll workers with the correct solution to each voter’s situation, including the correct ballot style and any necessary paperwork.

“AskED goes beyond what pollworkers could do with paper and helps ensure that each voter is given the appropriate opportunity to vote. The end result is improved accuracy, consistency and availability of the election process,” says Davoust.

The AskED ePollbook can be tailored to each jurisdiction’s needs. The AskED ePollbook is available on tablet devices and touch screen laptops. Loaded with standard features, the AskED ePollbook can be personalized screen by screen for each client ensuring that the ePollbook guides pollworkers through the correct county procedures. The end result is a smoother election.

The AskED ePollbook integrates smoothly with peripherals. Integrated barcode scanning and on-screen signature capturing are standard on the tablets for counties looking for an all-in-one solution. Barcode scanners, signature pads, receipt printers and on-demand ballot printing are also available. Robis Elections offers an all-in-one case that makes transporting, set-up and storage a breeze.

The AskED Command Center provides real-time reporting. The benefits of AskED go beyond the polling place as well. The chief election official will have access to the AskED Command Center™, which provides a variety of real-time information and reports to improve the management of the election.

Robis is pleased to be currently working with two Virginia jurisdictions. The City of Alexandria and the City of Virginia Beach both used the AskED Voter Direct mobile roster for the 2016 General Election.
